Interdependency (2023)
This work explores the unspoken tensions in intimate relationships — the struggle to express needs, the isolation within closeness, and the distance created by unmet expectations. Using vintage photos from a time of rigid gender roles, I obscure male faces to shift power and center female presence.
Through gaze, hands, and body language, the work reflects on power, communication, and control. By blending past imagery with contemporary insight, Interdependency challenges enduring gender norms and invites reflection on their impact today.
The series had an honorable mention at the PX3 Prix de la Photography Paris 2024
