Male fantasies, male fantasies, is everything run by male fantasies? Upon a pedestal or down on your knees, it's all a male fantasy. ‘Hiding/Hidden Part I, II, III’ (2022-2025)
Women have long faced societal barriers that limit their ability to express their talents. These constraints—both past and present—have often shaped a sense of invisibility and self-doubt. Hiding/Hidden visualizes this tension using cutouts from old German cinema magazines, creating layered portraits that reflect the ongoing struggle between visibility, value, and identity.
The series was nominated/shortlisted for the Hariban Award in 2022, ‚Der Greif‘ Guest room with Christopher Wiesner in 2023, Les Boutographies’ in 2023, Hellerau Photography Award 2023, BBA Photo Prize 2023, Critical Mass Top 50 2023, Photo Slovo Awards 2024, Julia Margaret Cameron Award 2024 and New Vision Photo31NL. The series was exhibited at the Technische Sammlungen Dresden, AFF Galerie Berlin, the Colorado Photographic Art Center, Photo31NL and Rotterdam Photofestival.
All works are for sale. The original collages are between 21 x 29,5 cm and the limited editions prints of 5 copies (+ 2 AP) are 30 x 45/30 x 40 or 50 x 75 /60 x 80 cm.
